Announcing the TACE New England Center
The Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI) at the University of Massachusetts/Boston in collaboration with Assumption College are pleased to Announce the Rehabilitation Services Administration’s (RSA) awarding of the Technical Assistance and Continuing Education (TACE)) Center for New England to the University of Massachusetts Boston and its partner Assumption College.
The TACE New England Center began on October 1st, 2008 with Cecilia Gandolfo (ICI) and Tom McCarthy (Assumption College) providing the leadership for the regional program. The TACE New England Center is charged with responding to the training and technical assistance needs of the ten state Vocational Rehabilitation agencies and their partners in the six states of this region.
The goals of the TACE Centers are to:
- contribute to the improved quality of VR services;
- help increase effectiveness & efficiency of State VR agencies and their partners in delivering VR services;
- help improve the quantity and quality of VR employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities.
ICI has been the Rehabilitation Continuing Education Program (RCEP) for Community Provider agencies in the region, while Assumption College has been the Region 1 RCEP for Vocational Rehabilitation. The merger of these two programs into a single TACE Center made sense, given our combined history of providing training and technical assistance to meet the regions needs. We are delighted to have received the award are looking forward to your involvement in the implementation of this new project.
We would like to thank you for your support of the application and look forward to working with each of you in the coming years.
